Cristóbal Ochoa (Caracas, Venezuela 1986), est un artiste interdisciplinaire vivant et travaillant à Paris depuis 2017. Formé principalement comme sculpteur, son travail est large, englobe différents médiums, de l'argile et de l'acrylique à la photographie et à la vidéo, qui abordent l'inhabituel , et des choses souvent négligées qui entourent notre cotidianité.
Le fil conducteur qui anime sa création artistique réside dans une tactilité aussi immédiate qu'imminente à l'approche de chaque pièce. Sa recherche artistique est ancrée dans le questionnement de la politique, des inégalités sociales, de la mode, de l'exil et de la mondialisation, tout en jouant avec la perception du spectateur, et en utilisant toujours l'élément humain comme point de départ et, récemment, la perception du genre et l'identité corporelle. Dans cette dernière enquête, l'artiste s'empare de son corps et repousse les limites de l'abîme entre sexualisation masculine et féminine versus idéalisation.
Avec ses performances, constantes tout au long de sa carrière, il invite le public à s'interroger sur les paradigmes et les enjeux de société.
