Cristóbal Ochoa (Caracas, Venezuela 1986) is an interdisciplinary artist living and working in Paris since 2017. Trained primarily as a sculptor, his body of work is wide, encompassing different mediums, from clay and acrylic to photography, video, installation, and performance, which tackle the unusual, and often overlooked aspects of our daily lives and invite the public to question received ideas and social issues.

The common thread that runs through his diverse body of work is a tactility that is as immediate as it is imminent when approaching each piece. His artistic practices aim at questioning politics, social inequality, fashion, exile and globalization, while playing with the viewer's perception, always using the human element as his point departure and recently, gender perception and body identity. In this last project, the artist turns his own body to a medium, in order to redraw the boundaries between male and female sexualization and idealization.
